Itinerary
Day 1: Paris - Fougeres
Start from Paris International Airport. Visit the medieval town of Fougeres with its
12th century castle (medieval military architecture), gothic church, public garden and museum of the local artist
Emmanuel de la Villeon (1858-1944, artist of impressionism).
Overnight in Fougeres area.
2: Fougeres - Mont-St-Michel - Emerald Coast
Views of Mont-St-Michel (UNESCO World Heritage, beginning of construction in 11th century). Visit the beautiful bay of
Mont-St-Michel with a 60-mile coastline. See the Emerald Coast (sea has the colour of emerald) and enjoy the views. The
Grand Aquarium shows sea animals from Brittany and all over the world. Visit the Rance-Valley and the ancient village
of Dinan with its medieval houses, St-Malo church and tower.
Overnight in Emerald Coast area.
3: Emerald Coast - Pink Granite Coast
Visit the spectacular site of Fort la Latte (14th century castle), the Cape Frehel lighthouse and the old village of
Treguir, which hosts one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Brittany (St-Tugdual, 14th and 15th century, roman and
gothic architecture). See the beautiful Pink Granite Coast (pink granite consisting of quartz, mica and feldspath).
Exhibitions about granite formation and mining in the littoral house of Ploumanach.

4: Pink Granite Coast - Crozon Peninsula
Bay of Morlaix, one of the most beautiful bays in France. Visit the ancient town of Morlaix with its viaduct and 15th
century gothic church and the basilica of Folgoet. Follow the tourist route along the northwestern coast of Brittany
with quaint villages and beautiful view points.
2 nights at Crozon Peninsula.
5: Locronan - Pleyben - Black Mountains - Huelgoat - Locronan
The old village of Locronan (ancient houses, 15th century church , 16th century chapel) is categorized as a historical
monument. Visit the Calvary of Pleyben and the park and castle of Trevarez. Enjoy the nature of the Black Mountains.
Huelgoat within regional park of Armorique (one of the most beautiful sites in Brittany).
2nd night at Crozon Peninsula.
6: Crozon Peninsula - Gulf of Morbihan
See the wild site of cape Sizun with its sea bird colonies (ornithological reserve). Further stops at N.-D.-de-Tronoen
with its 15th century Calvary and chapel, at the Eckmuehl lighthouse and the ancient town of Concarneau with the
marinarium and laboratory of marine biology. Visit the prehistoric museum of the Finistere area in St-Guenole.
3 nights in Gulf of Morbihan area.
7: Gulf of Morbihan round trip (Locmariaquer-Carnac-Josselin-Locmariaquer).
Visit the important megalith monuments of Locmariaquer and the alignments of megaliths at the prehistoric site of
Carnac with prehistoric museum. Stop in Josselin with its 14th cent. castle (former fortress built in 11th century).
2nd night in Gulf of Morbihan area.
8: The Gulf of Morbihan by boat
Discover the gulf on a boat round trip with stops at Arz island (several megalith monuments) or Moines island (biggest
island in the gulf with picturesque villages and a manifold flora). Cairn de Gavrinis is one of the most interesting
megalith monuments of Northern Europe (accessible by boat). The ancient town of Auray is one of the 8 cities in
Brittany titled as a town of art and history (battle in 1364 - war of succession). Visit the 17th century church and
the picturesque harbor with 15th century houses.
3rd night in Gulf of Morbihan area.
9: Gulf of Morbihan - Guerande peninsula
Enjoy the regional park Grande Briere (ornithological site, Dolmen, panoramas). Visit the medieval village of Guerande
(ancient houses, battlement, collegiate church).
Overnight at Guerande peninsula.
10: Guerande peninsula - Vitre
Visit the Manoir automobile in Loheac (exhibition of more than 230 vehicles of all kinds, ages and nations).
Medieval city of Vitre (11th century castle, park).
Overnight in Vitre area.
11: Vitre - Paris
You leave Vitre in the morning and return to Paris. Stop at castle of Dampierre (17th century) in the Chevreuse Valley.
End at Paris international Airport or in the city of Paris.
